School of Art -September

Improve your painting, pastel and pencil skills. 3rd September - 22nd October 2019. Holywood Old School

Two and a half hours of tutorial time with me starting on Tuesday 3rd September 7:30- 9:30. There is a maximum of fifteen persons per class. This is your opportunity to learn from a professional who uses the art skills and has tricks of the trade and wisdom to share with you. The venue is Holywood Old School. You must be over 16 to attend this course. If you are 18 or younger please let us know at the checkout and we will verify consent.

I have endless amounts of enthusiasm for what I do as a painter and maker. Furthermore I have a backpack full of wisdom that I am willing to share with you.

This course is for people who already have a keen interest in drawing or painting. Perhaps you haven’t picked up a paint brush for forty years or School was the last time you felt you could really express yourself through sketches.

This course is for you.

Each week we will have two and a half hours to hone in on a specific art skill – light and shade, pencil skills, still life work, how to mix your own colours and apply acrylic on canvas.

Your final piece will be something you choose to make for the last three weeks and I will help you bring that to life.

I intend to have a show with your pieces for family and friends to come and view but let’s get the course started first and then address the formalities when we have our masterpieces completed!

You source and supply all of your own materials for this course ie: Brushes, shading pencils, acrylic paints, canvas, sketch books.

I will recommend places to purchase and the brands you can use. The act of gathering supplies is a such a great way for you to take ownership of the course and to help you to feel excited about what you will learn.

Each week I will run a demonstration for you to follow but the pace of the course is very much self led. You will get out of this what you put in. Homework is not essential but I guarantee you are going to want to lift those brushes and pencils between our sessions because your fire for creativity will be ignited!

Sign up today and join me to improve your art skills and creativity.
