A Little bit about the Murlough Bay Print
A beach walk- so simple but pulls on so many of our senses. Cold wind in our face, hands in pockets, ears swamped with loud waves crashing and salt airy brushing our tongues. So good for the soul.
Made with the Irish holiday maker in mind, the original of this painting depicts a choppy sea typical of our Irish coastline even though Aly has added the flare of purple in the waves alongside the earthy mountains behind.
Scroll over the image to activate the zoom tab and see the thick layers of oil paint. We have made it our priority for our prints be as true to life as the real thing.
The painting is one of eight Irish seascapes made for Aly’s 2017 oil collection. She is passionate about the this collection. The same blue palette was across all eight paintings and the joy Aly felt when depicting these familiar Irish landscapes can be seen in her flecks of pink and purple paint.
Movement is really important to Aly and she wants the viewer to feel responsive to this in the marks of the palette knife.
Enjoy the variation in sea colour and rich moss colours on the Mourne mountain headland in the distance.
The print is available in two sizes. A dinky A6 postcard size and an A3 larger format to fill your wall perfectly.
The edition is a small number of only 40 making it the smallest run Aly has made. An investment!
