A Little bit about the Elephant Print
My third and most recent baby Abraham inspired the elephant and other small zoo animal prints that you can see here.
Walking around his nursery through the night, many of us know that all too well! I noticed blank walls and wanted something suitable for both genders while also remaining cool. I didn’t want it resembling any other typical fine lined pen or silhouette baby print.
It wasn’t until after the print was made that it became a little more special.
Karen, a friend of mine from childhood knew from the moment the print was live that she wanted it for her baby Elijah who was born a few months after Abraham.
Elijah was born with a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. My connection to cardiomyopathy is very personal having lost my father to this condition at a young age (read about my own heart condition here).
This print which has affectionately become known as “The Elijah print” in our studio. It has the most special of links to baby Elijah and the Bovis family (read Karen’s brave and open insight into their journey here) and will continue to be that way until all prints are sold from our store. However, the print and it’s beauty will live on in each of your homes.
Twenty percent of the profits from each print will go to Children’s heartbeat Trust a Northern Irish charity.
The charity helps provide accommodation in the Royal Belfast Hospital for sick children, fun days, a counselling service and they continue to help with research behind heart disease.
I am so passionate about this and honoured to be able to make this link directly with such an amazing family as the Bovis clan.
It is also great to be able to contribute to the awareness of heart disease.
I trust you enjoy the soft tones and gentle brush marks which are so visible and enjoyable in the print. It really does bring a little life to any nursery.
