#throwbackthursday to life @camp_treetops two summers ago when my husband worked as a counsellor and our oldest two boys were campers. Myself and our youngest travelled to the east and west coast of america on our own. When we finally made it to camp to live in the hill house for two weeks, every night instead of me feeling lonely while he slept, I walked 25k steps most days pulling him as he slept in the cart! The same cart that we carried food to the pigs in.

Even now he remembers bringing his pillow each night and settling in after Mummy and he walked ( well, I walked, not him🤪) to Dexter to check the chickens, sheep and pigs before he went to sleep.

Today the same kid fell and has an egg shaped bump on his forehead. This didn’t stop him demanding a French fancy ( bun) before bed. Some boss babies never change ... #MakingMemories

As one of the students on my corporate workshop last night said”it’s the quickest hour and a half of my life”. I started running art workshops 20 years ago when I volunteered as a support worker for young people with learning disabilities. Through the years I have served as a community artist for all ages, abilities and backgrounds. As well as constantly working on my own painting practice, I have learned what truly matters in a creative setting. Without a doubt that is helping to promote confidence in my students and showing them joy through art.

When I’m teaching you, it’s not about staying within the lines! We create our own lines, our unique templates in the timeframe given and as we travel through colour theory you can find calm and a sense of achievement when the magic of mixing colour happens.

I love to teach and I love to instil a sense of happiness through art where possible.

My recorded tutorials and materials packs are ready, they start at £35 and all you need is a mixing plate and a pot of water when they arrive. Oh yes, and a laptop or digital device to watch your tutorial!

We don’t shout about it often but sometimes it’s nice for you to know the charities that your purchases have gone towards helping throughout the last year. I am trying to educate my kids in the idea of giving more -
It’s not something they’re loving the thought of!! However, as I teach my mentoring students, giving valuable content online along with giving generously in the physical is something that helps the world go round. In fact, during this pandemic it’s essential that we are aware of where needs can be met.
It’s also so special to choose charities linked to what me and my business stand for.

I’ll share our Christmas 2020 giving in due course but for now, thank you for helping me to help support the work of these charities in 2019/2020.
@childrensheartbeattrust , @concernworldwide , we donated enough money to purchase a fridge for @lifehub.ni , @mariecurienorthdowngroup , @salvationarmyuk , we paid for a shipment of sanitary towels for @shared__threads , food banks linked to Windsor Presbyterian church ( I know that your dried foods over the Summer have gone into the hands of those who need) and in East Belfast, The international meeting point on the Lisburn road and other charities including @macmillancancer - my husband is also donating his #Movember donations to the work at Macmillan. So please do give if you can.

What does my creative Christmas party involve? 🥂🎄🎨A box of goodies to begin with and in that is @sipfuldrinks prosecco, a special Christmas print, all of your art materials ( paint, pastels, paintbrush, pencil, paper, canvas) to paint a festive scene onto a 7x5 canvas. We are adding in a few little extra treats into your box.

On December 10th party night we have a Christmas playlist and I’ll be dressed in festive attire so please do come and join me. Painting, Prosecco and Mariah Carey blasting - a dream come true !!
