My husband played hockey with Daniel a few years ago at Lisnagarvey hockey club.
It is fair to say that my husband is fitter now than in the days when he ran about a pitch alongside the super fit Daniel Buser…I’ll live in the hope that it’s Darling Edna that has aided my husband’s fitness!!
If you were to meet Daniel you would see how genuine, unassuming and modest he is.
This guy has true talent on the hockey pitch- he is always so lively and fun to watch from the sidelines.
Even more exciting than his representing hockey for Ireland (well for the likes of me who is sports gear obsessed) is his exciting new clothing range, Motion sportswear.
The pieces are suitable for everyday and for the gym, so I can’t wait to get my hands on this colourful collection.

In a few lines tell us a bit about yourself, work, family, lifestyle etc.
24 year old, hockey playing, surfer haired personal trainer. Advocate of the happy lifestyle approach, I enjoy to eat good food, exercise and work hard. But I also love eating bad food (occasionally,) being lazy and a day off. Moderation is king! Swedish mother and swiss father, 1 brother in OZ and 1 brother in Belfast. Firm believer in the ‘travel makes you richer’ style of life.
You are now a personal trainer, Can you tell us a bit about your sporting / fitness background?
Name the sport and I’ll think I’m awesome at it! (Rarely true though.) Love to take part in sport and a strong believer in the power of sport – it breeds friends / happiness / positivity. Lucky enough to have represented my country playing hockey, and still playing passionately for Lisnagarvey hockey club.
What do you enjoy most about what you do now?
Working with like minded people, passion is infectious.
Providing a platform for someone to achieve something they never believed they could do, and watching them achieve it! Dislike PTs who take the credit themselves!
How do you stay on track with your fitness goals? (diet, training with someone etc)
ENJOYMENT! Find a way in which you enjoy it and it isn’t a chore. I am a very strong believer in this, never take the “do it this way” approach. I would take the approach of finding things I enjoy, mastering the basics and focusing on progress! If you can fall in love with your fitness journey it will be one of the best moves you ever make! Plus never forget that everyone eats cake and drinks beer, no matter what they say!
How important is nutrition to you?
Nutrition is important, it is the foundation towards feeling great. But I find in 2015 we are absolutely mental about food, so many extreme approaches and so many people on mad diets because its the in thing, or because they googled it. Right or wrong, I try not to exclude anything from my diet completely, don’t get me wrong – you could see me with a kale smoothie or a gluten free something but i like the moderation approach provided you are still applying the healthy principles 80% of the time!
What is your favourite activity to do outside of sport/fitness?
Guitar, I am stone useless! But I was fortunate enough to pick up a client who plays the guitar. We now exchange guitar lessons and PT!
Where was the last place you holidayed?
Barcelona, last week! I went with my girlfriend, its an awesome city for those of you who have not been.
Do you have any advice for your younger self?
2 things, almost counter acting but anyway..
be a ‘yes man’ – do everything that comes your way – the more experience outside of your comfort zone the better!
study more, learn more, read more
If you had to chose one cheat meal what would it be?
I am a sucker for the bakery.. Or sugar, in any form. Could live without take away/greasy foods no problem!
